Excellence in Applied Project Management
Excellence in Applied Project Management (EAPM) is a hands-on, scenario-based training program designed to equip federal employees and locally employed staff with practical tools to successfully initiate, plan, execute, and close projects in dynamic and often resource-constrained environments. Grounded in both PMI PMBOK principles and the U.S. Department of State’s Project Cycle, the course emphasizes real-world application over theory. Participants work in teams to apply project management techniques to actual or anticipated projects from their posts or offices. Through interactive sessions, collaborative planning, and facilitated discussion, this course builds confidence, accountability, and a common language for project success across bureaus, regions, and roles.
This course is led by Christopher Stammer, a seasoned project management trainer who has delivered the U.S. Department of State’s Managing Projects at State course more than 200 times to over 4,000 federal employees worldwide. As the founder of Bonvalet Group and Voluminant, he brings decades of experience helping government teams deliver results in complex, high-stakes environments. Participants will leave this course with real tools, clear direction, and the confidence to lead projects that make a measurable impact.
